Knowledge Base1870Database password changed, Intrexx no longer starts
If you change the database password using a database management tool, Intrexx or the portal can no longer access the database and the portal service (Windows services) can no longer be started.
At this point you can only enter the password manually in the poolmanager.cfg under <Portal>\internal\cfg\... Please edit this file only with an UTF-8 capable editor (e.g. Notepad++), proceed as follows:

- open poolmanager.cfg <Portal>\internal\cfg\
Search for the corresponding connection to the database, in this case it is the connection with the name "IxSysDb".
See picture poolmanager-1.png

- now enter the new password in plain text
Example: <property name="password" type="string" value="newPassword"/>
See picture poolmanager-2.png

You should now be able to restart the portal service and gain access to the portal. Since the poolmanager.cfg contains the password in plain text, we strongly recommend that you work through the following steps to ensure that the password is encrypted again.

- open the Manager\Integration\Consume Data\... see picture manager-1.png

- to start the encryption process edit the password again, but this time enter a pseudo password, e.g. 1234

- save the input and confirm the error message. see picture manager-2.png

- open the dialog again and enter the correct password.

This procedure will encrypt the password again, check this in the poolmanager.cfg.
